Delegates from Various Zambian Institutions Conduct Experience-Sharing Visit at the Ethiopian Metrology Institute

ADDIS ABABA — June 11, 2026 (EMI) — A delegation composed of representatives from Zambia’s Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Bureau of Standards, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Fisheries, and Ministry of Health conducted an experience-sharing visit at the Ethiopian Metrology Institute (EMI) today.

Following a warm welcome extended to the delegation, a comprehensive briefing was provided highlighting the institute's establishment, historical evolution, and its current institutional standing.

Subsequent to the briefing, the delegates toured various specialized laboratories within the institute, where technical experts provided detailed explanations of ongoing operations and capabilities.

The visitors expressed that the knowledge-based briefings and observations provided them with valuable insights. They further affirmed their commitment to fostering closer collaboration with the institute moving forward, aiming to work collectively to elevate the metrology sector across Africa to a higher standard.

The experience-sharing program is scheduled to continue this coming Monday.
